The nuevi 270 is built with a high-sensitivity WAAS-enabled GPS receiver for extreme accuracy, as well as an SD card slot for storing your media and additional navigation tools, and a USB interface for loading data. All this is wrapped up in a package that measures 3.8 x 2.8 x .8 inches (W x H x D) and weighs just 5.2 ounces. The nuevi 270's 3.5-inch (diagonal) display is touchscreen-enabled, making it a cinch to control the device with your fingertips. nuevi 270 comes ready to go right out of the box with preloaded City Navigator NT street maps, including a hefty points of interest (POIs) database with hotels, restaurants, fuel, ATMs and more. Navigation is just the beginning. nuevi 270 features many travel tools including JPEG picture viewer, world travel clock with time zones, currency converter, measurement converter, calculator and more. We love our Garmin! We have friends that have other brands, Tom Tom, Magellan, and others, that aren't nearly as pleased. We really enjoy the size and user friendliness of this model. It's so easy to take in and out when traveling, yet the voice clarity and screen clarity are astounding. The mapping is great and this model is preloaded with Europe as well as USA. I received this as a Birthday present. I have a GPS "built-in," in my other car, so I know how the expensive ones work and I am pleased with this portable unit. Nice looking, nice size, easy readability, and accurate. As this was a present, I can only assume it was much cheaper then my "built-in," but it does the same job. And, it has the portability to be used outside the vehicle or in another vehicle. I am very pleased with it!

The GPS navigator is very neat. I like the way it recalculates your trip when you need to take a detour. I would have preferred if it spoke out the names of the streets. However, I've gotten used to looking at the top of the display to see the name where i need to turn

i had purchsed a Garmen 270 model last year sometime and used it often. i liked it so much i purchased two more as gifts for christmas. both are being used and are very much enjoyed.

I bought this present for my parents who are in their 70s and not at all computer savvy. They travel by car quite a bit however, and sometimes in Europe. They are having some trouble because there's not always a 'back' button to push, or clear indications on how to change a screen (e.g. from map to text). Also, it would be nice for the screen to be larger. I think overall it is a good product, but I'm still looking for something that is user-friendly for everyone.
