Poorly built, bad screen, worst customer support ever. January 8, 2009 Dmitri Zyuzin (Seattle, WA) The quality of the product is terrible, did not fit properly into a double din. The buttons are cheap, and unfriendly. The screen is ok at night but completely unreadable during the day. Boring static image as a background while playing cd's. The touchscreen is not very responsive, it seems that none of the units are calibrated because the buttons respond to the side of them a little bit and not in the center. The unit clicks when powered on even when the body is properly grounded. It is "ok" for watching dvd's, if you use the remote. It is a big hassle to use this unit for music. One last factor which is the most important. The face plate board died and I wanted to repair myself. The manager of the company provided the worst customer service ever. He would not answer my questions and was very rude. He refused to provide service (even service I would pay for) to fix the unit. He was very very rude and full of himself for example... I didn't realise he was a manager right away and when I asked to speak to a manager he responded with "For your information, I am the manager!". Anyways this is a very poorly built unit which is made from cheap parts. The inside of the unit has boards from several different brands almost none of the unit is actually made by boss. If you're going to buy a cheap unit like this go with a Pyle unit. Their stuff is much better quality with better service.
cool things ever November 25, 2008 Ankhbold Uguumurbayan (ca) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bouth it, and installed it myself. i have no experience about autoelectric, but i did. pantastic, if you want it you need just one fitting kit special in your car that's all. all the wires color by color easy toy. one puzzle is parking brake orange wire!!!!!! just hook it up any metallic ground under the dashbourd. than dvd 'll show you clear nice cool video.
Decent, not great September 16, 2008 Promethean Epim 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This was the least expensive Double-din dvd/radio I could find with a front panel AUX input. It works well, but the system is built to only show video when the car is stopped, and does this by hooking up to the parking break wire. This seems to be the common setup for video systems, but I have a manual transmissions, so this doesn't work for me, and so I'm dealing with Boss support to find an alternative. The touch screen is responsive but the interface is very no-frills, with a radio screen that reminds me of the old atari 2600 video games. While playing a CD you get a nice Boss background though. My car has a standard 2-din slot, but the trim is oddly shaped, and the body of this radio is also slightly too large to fit the trim/install kit that goes with my car. It appears that this radio's face is designed to be it's own trim, so it I will need to work up something custom to make it look good in my car, and anyone without a regular rectangular trim in their car may need to do the same. There's nothing in the manual or specs about GPS, but when you hold down the "Band" button, it switches to GPS mode. I'm not sure if this means there's a way to hook up a GPS unit to it, or if they just use the same software as other models that do support GPS. In this case, the screen just turns blue, like a TV without a signal.

Great for the price. May 26, 2008 Elena M. Allen (usa) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Not too bad. If you're in the market for a dvd player than this isn't a bad purchase for $300. Not as fancy as the others but it does the job. Has rca outputs for everything minus subwoofer. That isn't too important unless you plan on competing in audio. I have this wired up in my envoy and really like it as do my kids. Screen is bright enough. The usb input is awesome, allowing you to play music files recorded to things like mp3 players and flash drives. Overall a great dvd player if you don't need the name brand.
