Read info about cars sale – Due to the depreciation that all cars suffer from, buying a used car can offer great value for money. Even if you choose to buy a car that is only a year old, the savings will be considerable and you will have a car that’s as good as new. At the lower end of the market you can be sure to find great bargains on older cars, especially if you know what you are doing and have some mechanical knowledge. Buying a used car will probably take a little more effort than a brand new car, and this is mostly due to the variation of prices and quality of cars you have available to you. But surely this is a good thing? Greater choice always means that the customer wins and this is never more true than in the used car market.

Research It is important that you start off with a good amount of research. Look into different makes and models and try to find a few options that suit your needs. When looking for used cars, there’s always an option to suit any budget so make sure you look at how different age’s, models, mileage etc effect the purchase price. At this stage, it is also wise to have a think about the running costs of the cars in question. Try to look into servicing costs, tyre’s and other such things as this will give you a good picture of potentially how much the car will cost to keep on the road. There are many places on the internet where you can find huge amounts of information.

Window Shopping Some people love going around and looking at used cars, and some people hate it! However, it’s something we all have to do at some stage and the trick is not to rush it and to always remain level headed and focused on the goal in mind…more research! Having done a little bit of homework prior to viewing cars, your trips around local car dealers should act to re-enforce and strengthen your growing picture of the market. Always ask lots of questions, and never feel pressured into a purchase. Test driving cars is a great way of getting a good ‘feel’ for the car, but it’s also a very quick way to fall in love! Keep focused and you’ll be fine!

Doing the Deal Once you’ve found the car you want, or maybe a couple of cars, it’s time to start negotiating on the price. Sometimes, a car will be advertised at a very good price and there’s not much you can do. However, usually there is room for negotiation and most dealers will be happy to strike a deal if it means they are going to win your business. This is where all your prior research will come into play, the more you know about the market the better position you’ll be in for bargaining. If there is no room to move on price, you can always try to get a few extras; maybe an extension on the warranty or a free service and MOT. When you speak to teenagers or kids in schools these days in regards to the cars, you will notice that they probably will know more about cars than some adults. They seem to be keen on used cars what’s in and what’s out for their future reference. They told me knowing about these things from now on is very useful as they will be driving in the near future. I don’t disagree having the knowledge of cars from now will definitely help them in the future when they are looking to buy cars for themselves.

My aunt’s kid who is doing his A-levels currently bought his first car when he was 14 and he is 18 now but still hasn’t passed his driving test. Interesting thing is he bought a car for £250 from eBay and his mother has been using the car since then. This is great investment in my part because the car is still running and he bought it 4 years ago. It is a Volkswagen with 2000 number plate, which is still a great buy from ebay for just £250. He certainly seems like a car lover and definitely did a lot of research before buying this car.

He plans to do his driving test after he completes the A-Levels and wants to research on history of Honda cars. He is a massive fan of Honda and loves the new Honda Civic type R. His room is full of images of Honda cars. For his work experience for GCSE’s he was a trainee in Alfa Romeo cars garage based in Birmingham. There is definitely some dedication and determination to succeed about cars in this boy who started at 14.

I went to his school the other day to find out how he was getting on. His teachers were so impressed that they told me he knows more about the cars than the teachers themselves. Apparently he has been advising other kids to make sure their parents choose a reasonable and decent car.
