I like the sound and you don't have to have it at teenager volume to appreciate the well defined bass and clear treble. Radio 5 is a real pain to tune into in many areas but otherwise radio reception and output quality is very good. If connected properly the unit should retain station memory and function - CD/FM/AUX-IN etc (per previous user's review). mp3 playback is via a 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack lead but the volume is VERY low compared to FM/CD sources etc. If you forget to turn it down and switch to radio etc... it's much too loud. The face panel is lit red and the screen text is white and has a dimmer. You can't change either colour but they're easy enough to live with. With factory-fit speakers, you'll notice the musical improvement but even with cheaper independent brand speakers you'll really notice the improvement, whether it's pop, rock or classical - lots of backing instrumentals suddenly coming through. Adkin quite excellent - a LOT of trick features and good sound reproduction for not much money at all. Highly recommended. WHERE IS RADIO5? June 30, 2009 GEO2779 (WIGAN, UK) This is a reasonable car radio/cd player. No real complaint, except that the reception for Radio 5 (i.e. the AM frequency) is non-existent.
